21-year-old Malik Flowers has been arrested after the double Friday night shooting a block from the Donaldsonville High School football game. Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Donovan Jackson said Flowers faces second-degree murder for the death of 21-year-old Tyree Parker and an attempted murder charge…
“From the information that we received, we know that they were acquaintances and at some point, they got into an argument that unfortunately led to gunshots being fired,” said Jackson.
Because the football game against Patterson was close by Jackson said the game was halted as a security precaution and the stadium needed to be utilized for air medics.
“But definitely because we wanted to make sure that our residents there were safe and make sure things were under control,” said Jackson.
Jackson said the other shooting victim, Jackson is hospitalized and fighting for his life.
“Hopefully we’ll be able to get more information about what happened or what transpired. And hopefully, our second victim will be able to fully recover, and maybe we’ll be able to talk to him and get more information about this incident,” said Jackson.
This is the third shooting that’s happened near or at a high school football game this season. There was one on October 6 at the Hahnville – Thibodaux game and a fatal shooting on September 1st at the Brusly – Port Allen game.
